And what equipment do you use and what do you like to cook?
At home, or out in the country, camping, glamping or whatever!
And pictures please
(and links to the recipesyou cooked)

My climate is conductive to outdoors cooking.
3 months of rainy season, 9 months dry.
Our winter falls in the dry season, so the bbq, braai, woodfire helps to keep us warm

Great thread idea! I've have a "grillzebo" out back with a Weber natural gas grill and Traeger smoker. I use them all the time, year round from -5*F to 100*F+ to make steaks, burgers, brisket, chicken, turkeys, pork, and even fish and veggies. My top three favorite Youtube channels for smoker recipes are Meat Church BBQ, Hey Grill Hey, and Mad Scientist BBQ.

For special occasions, I also have an oil-less fryer that I make a 2nd turkey in each Thanksgiving, and a high-output outdoor gas burner that I use maybe twice a summer when we do our big lobster boils with friends and family. Both of those run off a 5-gallon propane cylinder.

And of course, liking to hike, backpack, and kayak camp, I have an assortment of titanium grill grates and lightweight stoves and cookware for that sort of thing. Some Purcell Trench Grill pics:

My packable stoves include a Vargo folding twig stove, Esbit stoves, alcohol stoves, a Coleman white gas stove, and my latest edition, an isobutane stove. All have their place depending on the temperature and purpose. When backpacking, I usually just boil water to re-constitute freeze dried Mountain House meals, but on long day hikes, I often like to cook an actual meal. Some pics of those:

I got a wide variety of charcoal burning "devices".
From weber kettle grill to wsm and all kind of in between.
And a fire pit in front of the house.
Dutch ovens, potjies in several sizes, braai grids, steel, cast iron etc.
They all get used as they were all created equal. Except that some are more equal than others :)

Got a spit braai as well, in case of big parties

I have charcoal and a cheapy grill. When the weather is warm enough to be out it's also usually too humid. You're standing there soaking in your sweat so not much outside. I hate laundry...

Very short windows of opportunity.
I got no AC, so generally outside is better than inside.
But would you like grilling/bbq'ing if your climate would allow?

And anything outdoorsy counts...
Gas, wood, charcoal, briquettes: restaurant food, motorbike travel outdoor food...
Petrol, coleman fuel, methylated spirits
Not much off topic as long as it is not indoors
I had to use paint thinner for a bit in a Coleman brand cook stove.😱 Kind of tasted like a Zippo lighter smells.

Very seldom. I wish I could do it more, but I don't have a yard - only a small-ish balcony and it wouldn't be safe to do anything on it.

Our condo premises does have BBQ pits and we use those occasionally.

I get a little envious when I see folks' outdoor setups of grills and smokers and wood-fired pizza ovens.

Nothing beats the flavor of a steak or a burger done over charcoal. 👍 I've thought about adding a Big Green Egg in between our gas grill and smoker, but it's one more thing to clean and take care of.
True
What I use most often is a hinged grill grid and a collapsable tripod.
That last thing is so versatile. It holds the braai grid, or a potjie or skillet, but also a wok

Very seldom do I cook outdoors tho very fortunate to know many who do! Perhaps I should get into into it more. Im not crazy about fire watching and the fire residue clean up 😅

We do have both a gas grill and charcoal. Also plenty of wood - apple and peach. Others mentioned cooking over charcoal - is that just by way of using wood and letting it burn down to coals like badjak or do people make charcoal ahead of time for later use?

I do both
I buy lump charcoal, but also use wood.
When I use my smoker, I need charcoal.
When cooking straight it is either or
