When I don't like something I will keep going back to it, to give it another chance. I have ended up coming around on potato salad, creamed corn, and baked potatoes. Most recently (after almost 40 years of trying) I finally have decided I like cole slaw. One thing that I cannot grow into is rhubarb pie. I don't understand it. I like the whole sweet/sour taste-blend in many other foods. Do you like rhubarb pie? Why or not?

I love rhubarb, but the best time of year is spring when it is wet and fresh, not the big fat stems from the end of the season that are seen now in the shops.

We often just cook the stems and eat them as a stewed fruit just as is, or add yoghurt to the stewed fruit. Rhubarb crumble is my favourite, the sweetness and crunch of the crumble offsetting the sourness and softness of the rhubarb.

Are you using the correct pastry in your rhubarb pie? It would need to be be a sweet shortcrust pastry, not a normal shortcrust (savoury) one.
