When you’re working in the kitchen, do you “whistle while you work,” so to speak?

I certainly do, and it’s usually making up lyrics that have to do with what I’m putting together set to a familiar tune.

Tonight, for example, I made a salad, so without thinking, the song “Sugar Sugar” popped into my head, so I started singing:

“Salad… do do doot doot do do
Makin’ salad… do do doot doot dooooo
Usin’ lotsa cheeeese…
But it’s diet cheeeese… oh oh
Pour a little dressing on it baby!
Pour a little dressing on it honey!
I’m gonna make your plate creamy!”

Sometimes MrsT laughs, sometimes she tells me to shut the hell up.

What about everyone else? Do you get your song on when you’re cooking?

Over the course of an evening, it's such a pleasure to blend a symphony of food and music to present to family and friends, to the point that I have to consciously leave my process-passion behind and focus on the end result, which is what ultimately matters, and which admittedly is hard to do when I'm in one groove and need to switch to another ...and I'm not a chef, just a "husband with a cooking problem", says my wife, lol! 🤣

But even Mrs. GH can't concede. We're both 52 and she gets down with her bad self while listening to music, too!
