Does anyone forage ?

Many many years ago my Grandma would pick young dandelion leaves for salad. It was just the neighbourhood meadow, she'd wash them really well as this was within city with traffic and all. But I haven't ever.
I'd love to. Sounds like a great thing to do, if you know what you're doing and it's not forbidden, a nice activity for vacation, and knowing how to cook it, and having a place to cook it, i.e. renting a place that has cooking facilities...
 
A friend of mine definitely does. One day he shows up with some venison steaks he bagged hunting. Then he goes out in the lawn in the back and finds these things in it, pulls them up and says he needs a knife, butter and olive oil. I got a hotplate out there and a pan, though it is time for sandblasting. But they were good and I forgot what he said they were.

He also brings ramps over every once in a while, now THAT is foraging.
