When my family goes camping, we have an easy outdoor cooking recipe that is our go-to recipe. Of course we love to make hot dogs over the fire, or hamburgers on the grill, but sometimes we want something a little more flavorful while camping. We like to make what we call meat pies!
Here's my recipe:
(Serving size is for one)
Cooking spray
1/3 pound ground beef
1 Small diced Potato
Veggies (whatever vegetables you want to add. I use onion, carrots, peppers, grean beans, ect)
Salt and Pepper
Garlic (optional) (I love garlic so I like to add a little garlic powder to mine)
What to do:
Lay a large sheet of aluminum foil flat and spray it with cooking spray. Seperate your beef patty into pieces. Add all ingredients in the center of the foil sheet. Fold the aluminum foil to make it like a pouch. Place the pouch over a bed of coals where your fire is. Turn the pouch every few minutes or so. Overall, it should take about 15 minutes to cook.
Open the foil and enjoy! :)
It is very delicious and fun to make! It is so easy, even the kids can help out.
