This is my version of falafels. I served with with salad in pita bread and homemade tahini sauce.
2 cups chana daal soaked overnight in water
4 garlic cloves
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon chilli pepper
4 brown onions
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 dessert spoons chickpea flour
1 teaspoon salt
Put the daal (in batches) into a blitzer and blitz until the chana daal is chopped but not smooth.
Blitz the rest of the ingredients and mix well with the chana.
Roll into balls and flatten slightly.
Shallow or deep fry until brown.
