I joined this forum to learn from others, share ideas, and have real food conversations. I’d love to know:
What’s your go-to comfort food on a rainy day?

My favorite comfort food on a rainy day?…probably meatloaf, especially if it’s cold out.

Comfort food on a rainy day would be some kind of soup or a grilled cheese sandwich with homemade bread and homemade mayonnaise.

Probably Goulash (the British version, not the one with pasta) with quite a lot of paprika heat and a fat dollop of sour cream or if I could eat wheat then a stew with fat fluffy dumplings.
Pie preferably chicken and leek but any pie works on the rainy day comfort front.
Trashy things that are easy and indulgent you eat in front of a good tv programme like cheesy chips with curry sauce or dirty fries.

Definitely curry and Indian food in general. Dhal is very comforting. In terms of traditional UK food, I'm with you, SandwichShortOfAPicnic regarding pies and dumplings. I also love eggs. Poached eggs are very soothing.

And then there is the potato...

Homemade chicken noodle soup if it's cold and wet outside. For just wet I am less concerned.

I'd probably make a quick curry with any vegetables left in the fridge.
However, an omelette (sometimes a masala omelette) and chips always fills the spot.

Mom is always trying to give me Kraf* Mac N Cheese boxes... No, cheese comes out of the refrigerator and it's wrapped in plastic, not SSS (space shuttle shit), paper.
