• I’ve added a casual chat room to CookingBites as a place for off-topic banter, light conversation, and short-lived chit-chat that doesn’t belong in forum threads. The chat room is informal and lightly-to-not moderated, with messages being temporary, so it’s ideal for friendly back-and-forth that would otherwise derail discussions. Site rules still apply, but there’s no reporting system or expectation of post-by-post moderation - if something becomes uncomfortable, the right response is to step away. If a topic has substance or lasting value, it still belongs in the forums; everything else can head to chat.

When your dog wouldn't eat, here is a soft diet that you can hand feed to your dog. Boil a cup of rice in 4 cups of water. After boiling for 2 minutes, get the liquid and place in a cup. Add a dash of salt. When cooled, add an egg yolk.

You can use a syringe to hand feed the liquid diet to your dog. That is very nutritious with protein and carbohydrate. And with our dogs, that diet is very effective.

We often also feed our pup mashed sweet potato or mashed pumpkin when he's feeling unwell. Apparently according to our vet, it works on either end of the spectrum of stomach upsets - plus he just likes the taste which is an added bonus!

Thanks a mill. Always welcome tips for my girls. There is one here who will never not eat. She is so greedy.......
