Long story shortened, I had a groundhog last year that was making tunnels in my and my neighbors yards, I got some stuff to deter him and it kind of "worked", but that just eventually drove him under my deck, I tried many more deterrents and they didn't work, so I had to drop a grand on getting my deck removed, and it worked. He left, and everything was fine for the rest of the year. He came back again (this year) and made a bunch of tunnels, and one along my house (that one concerns me the most). The usual deterrents did not do anything, so I had to schedule an appointment with pest control, and they came out and did their thing. Well, this crafty little SoB kept digging around the traps and evading them, so the critter control guy asked me if it would be ok to go lethal. I don't want anyone or any animals to get hurt, but if he kept doing his thing and burrowed into my house, that would have cost me many thousands of dollars to fix, and I can't afford that. So I agreed to go lethal. I also have medical issues going on currently that are undiagnosed, and I can't even work or drive until my neurologist clears me, so life is incredibly inconvenient right now.
The lethal trap worked. I feel really bad because I love animals and don't want any to get hurt. But the guy told me that the trap he used is instant, and there is no pain or suffering. I hope this groundhog was working alone, because the total amount I've spent on getting rid of it for the past couple of years up until today is over $2,000. That is insane for just a wildlife animal that I have no control over, so that is another reason I wanted to get this done A.S.A.P.
Things are starting to look up for me. I have a few things cleared off my plate now, and I don't work well with anxiety. I have it really bad, and I worry enough for several people, so any relief from that I can get, I take. Here's hoping things keep looking up.
