Hi All
First time here and first time with fresh prawns.
In my sixty-odd years, I have never prepared fresh prawns.
I have bought some fresh, raw, headless, shell on King Prawns.

Due to my disabilities, my wife is responsible for prep.
She has de-veined them, although they did not seem to have any noticeable traces of gut, unlike when I have watched TV chefs.
She has also peeled them, leaving the tails on - is that correct?
I intend to make a pasta or risotto or Jambalaya -when I can make my mind up.
Should I cook them separate to the main dish and add at the end?
Should I remove the tails?

Hi and welcome to CookingBites . If you have a moment please hop over to New to CookingBites? and say a few words about yourself. We love to welcome new members.

You can leave the prawn tails on or off. Most people don't actually eat the tails as they are crunchy! I leave them on quite often as it looks pretty. I always add prawns to dishes towards the end. They only need a few minutes to cook from raw and if you add them earlier they can go tough.

You can cook separately or add at the end. I often cook in shell separately as this adds flavour I think.
