Strangely they've recently started stocking items that they never had before, some thru 3rd party sellers, and some like this, even on store shelves.

I threw away a bottle of brand new fish sauce from my sister’s house, I’m not taking food back from her house. I don’t know how long it’s been there. Also a huge jar of Himalayan salt, barely used.

I buy a couple of bottles of fish sauce. Not worried about the date and I don't keep it in the fridge either.
It's often "squid" sometimes another brand. Whatever they have

Yep! It's also typically expensive enough I wouldn't throw it out, that's foo&+$#.

I've been there and understand perfectly.
When we cleaned out my parent's bungalow, after they passed, we found homemade jam from 2018, tins of fruit, peas, beans, etc from 2012, and heaven knows what else. All in the bin, bye bye!
