Flan Pâtissier

Looks fabulous - and full of calories. Is that a close cousin to the egg custard tarts we see in England? I don't have a really sweet tooth, but I love flans and tarts, especially French and Spanish ones - they seem to use a thin pastry crust with plenty of filling. How did it taste - and is there any left?
 
Fabulous - according to my custard tart loving neighbour (English - holiday home :laugh: and sorry, it's all gone.
