There is no such thing as free advertising. Let's get that one out of the way.
We expect you to contribute content to our site before receiving free advertising. We consider it rude and a form of spam if you sign up and push your food blog/YouTube channel/business without participating on our site.
Why? We're a small forum. Our members contribute to the site's operating costs when they can; the site owner covers the remainder. So let's put it this way: why should we/I pay for your advertising?
Search engines work by following links, so if you want your blog/channel/site to be found by a search engine, you need to promote your site by adding links on other sites. To do that here, you need to add content to our site. The more quality content you add here, the more search engines see your member name, links, signature, profile page, content, photographs, videos, and avatar, and the more free advertising you get from it.
Our rules are simple: members must participate before receiving their advertising.
You will receive advertising through many channels simply by participating in our community, often without even realising it. The more you participate on our site, the more advertising you'll receive.
Advertising comes in the form of:
Search engines also look at dates and the quality of the content you add, so regular participation that's more than "that looks nice" counts far more than adding a couple of recipes and disappearing for a month or two.

Advertising comes in the form of:
- Your member/username: The more comments, posts and quality threads in your name, the more times search engines find you.
- Your logo/avatar: Again, the more comments, posts, and threads under your name, the more often search engines see you.
- Your signature: Every post will include an additional link to your site once you are a full member.
- Your "About You" page: You can mention your site/blog/channel there once you are a full member.
- Website link: You'll also be able to link to your site/blog/channel in the website link in your profile.
- Adding Recipes: The more recipes/articles/reviews you add here, the more links to your site you'll get. Each of these links increases the likelihood that a search engine will find and index your site.
- Video recipes: We don't host videos; each video serves as a link to your YouTube channel.
- Your photos: Search engines now match photos, so posting the same image here creates a link to your site.
- New threads: Creating new threads here gives you another opportunity to link to your site for more information and to expand the thread's depth (e.g., the history behind the subject). Note that recipes must be complete. We are not a link-sharing site; there is no "click here for the full recipe".
- Responding: Commenting on other members' recipes can increase visibility of your username & avatar in search engine results.
Search engines also look at dates and the quality of the content you add, so regular participation that's more than "that looks nice" counts far more than adding a couple of recipes and disappearing for a month or two.
