Has anyone Seen This Gadget?

It's one of those gadgets that are used in the kitchen. Better than a garlic press & looks easier to clean!! I saw it on Amazon & decided to give it a whirl. I tried to get it in orange, but they don't have it.

I got one of those. It went in the trash. Cleaning the cutting board, or whatever you're mashing on, took more water than just cleaning my hand press.

I see so , so many gadgets and thingamyjigs for peeling/crushing/mincing garlic, and yet the quickest, easiest and most effective way is to bash the clove with a knife, slip off the skin and chop it with aforementioned knife.

How do you know that it's better than a garlic press?

Or heat them in the microwave with a little water....

Yes, I don't even use water.

I threw a brand new garlic press from my sister’s house. My husband said much easier to use the back of a knife to crush them.

The quickest way is probably with a chopper. I have two, but i thought that I'd try this.

My husband said much easier to use the back of a knife to crush them.

...and it is. I had to use 140 gms fresh garlic in yesterday's recipes - that's about 3 whole heads of garlic. 15 minutes and nothing else to wash up except the knife.

The quickest way is probably with a chopper.

My chef's knife is a 12", and always razor sharp. The back end is heavy, so once I've smashed and peeled the cloves, the chopping is just rocking the knife back and forwards. I use a heck of a lot of garlic, mind you.

In the past, I used this Chinese Chef's Knife for everything, including garlic. I found that a chopper or press is faster. I still have it.

I've been using THIS for chopping veggies & garlic & the pull-string chopper. Then again, garlic also, at times comes peeled, chopped or minced.

I don't like "one-use" items, or "gimmicks." I like things that can be used in more than one way.
Like a mixing bowl can also be a hat, or a used pizza box can be turned into a tank for your cat to play "commando."

I threw that away too. Brand new from my sister’s house. I use my knife for chopping, slicing, julienning, and the knife is not even sharp, lol.
