Welcome. I wish I could grow palm trees in my back yard but that doesn't work in the Midwest.

I recall there was a year in Las Vegas where a *lot* of the imported palm trees had scorpions in them. Mostly all they grow there are pine trees or palm trees, lots of olive trees for the flowers.

Thank you all for the warm welcome, palm trees here are pest, they send roots everywhere even with a root barrier.
I took away 3 trees in my front yard and dug up their roots, they sent their roots out 2-3 yards away.

Here we have maple trees. They grow like weeds. I clear the land of maple tree saplings every Spring. Perhaps I should take up making maple syrup.

I read it takes 40 gallons of sap to make 1 of syrup!

I don't know but I'll bet it is a messy process and one I probably won't pursue. The supermarket is always in stock on maple syrup.
