Hello from Sweden, I'm new here

Welcome from Ohio US!

We’ve been to Sweden exactly one time, in 1992, to pick up a car we’d purchased. We really enjoyed it.

Please, jump right in, and if you have any questions about anything…just ask.

Thank you all.
Morning Glory I don't really have any preference when it comes to cooking. I have been blessed with having a non picky palate.
Though I have been cursed with the cilantro gene, so no to fresh cilantro.
I am currently trying to learn more traditional Scandinavian recipes. Since my mom and dad didn't cook so much traditionally Swedish husmanskost as we call it (house people diet) directly translated. But means traditional food.

My wife is from the Philippines so I have learned some that during our marriage and therefore have the luck to always have amazing Filipino food if I want. Favorite is pork sinigang.

I know it’s not “traditional” Scandinavian cooking, but one of my favorite shows to watch here (via YT these days) is New Scandinavian Cooking.

I’ll admit, it’s very fish/seafood-centric, which is not something I cook or eat, but I still love watching the program.

Welcome to CookingBites. :welcome:

I know Scandinavia well. I've been going there since I was a kid, back in 1985, I think was the first visit. My OH and I had our honeymoon in Stockholm back in 1996 and we spent a long time cycling through all of Scandinavia when we went off to (try to) cycle around the world.

We now live in Australia but nearly lived in Stavanger at one point about 15 years ago.

Nice. Now I have a new channel to check out, thank you!

Also the cookbook I'm reading right now is the Nordic cookbook by Swedish chef Magnus Nilsson. It is very fish forward which I like since I didn't eat a lot of fish growing up.
