My very lovely American friend sent me a food parcel not so long ago. Amongst other things, were two tins of hominy (one white, one yellow).

What can I cook/make with them? In the UK we don't have hominy and I've yet to taste it. So, all suggestions welcome.

Obviously soups/stews, chicken, pork, vegetarian. Casseroles, anything from cheesy to mixed vege side to 1 dish meal type. You can make a dessert rice pudding type dish, except using hominy. A favorite from my childhood is just heated up plain with lots of butter, salt and pepper - like I eat my grits.

This is what I’d recommend doing with at least a portion of it, to give you an idea of the flavor profile you’ll be working with.
