How do you like your gravy?

I'm making a beef stew today, as we speak!

After the veggies are added, I will thicken it with a little slurry of flour and water & a little Gravy Master to make a brown gravy to it.

I like the consistency there. To me it looks just right. Yesterday I experimented with a wine sauce but it was too watery.:(

We use a teaspoon of cornflour mixed with warm water and stirred in, that helps to thicken sauce and gravy. I like mine thick and flavoured with the juices from the cooked meat and also red wine, maybe a serving of port....

Here's a pic of my beef stew in gravy that I made the other day.

My family is a bit of a weird one. My mother says no to all gravy no matter what. My boyfriend always likes a tiny drizzle of gravy on his steak and mushrooms. He doesn't care if its thick or thin, as long as its flavorful. My dad drinks gravy like he drinks booze. When I eat, I tend to gravy only sometimes. If I'm making cottage pies, I prefer some amount of gravy with the meat but if I'm having roast chicken or fried chicken I don't have any gravy. Would you say our family is picky?
