Whenever I need a tortilla for something (usually either a bean burrito or a breakfast burrito), I rely on store-bought ones, and I like to warm them up to make them a little more pliable.

There are several ways to warm them, from microwave to skillet to oven. The method I’ve settled on over the years is to turn on my oven’s “Keep Warm” feature, which holds the oven at 170°F, then sprinkle just a little bit of water over the tortillas and toss them in the warmed oven for about 5 minutes.

They come out nice and soft and easy to fold or roll.

If you’re warming your already-made tortillas, what’s your preferred method?

Corn tortillas:
Depends on what I'm making. Usually quick steamed for soft

Flour/wheat tortillas/flappers:
I have a thin copper frying pan/skillet that I throw the tortillas into and whack up the heat to max, throw in the tortilla, cover with lid, wait about 15-20 seconds - tortilla is dry steamed and soft/pliable If I'm heating several I keep them warm and soft wrapped in foil or in a clean dish towel.

I only buy Corn Tortillas for one recipe and warming them is not necessarily.
But for all other dishes I use Flour and I'm in the same camp as ThatDude , open gas flame and get them a bit toasted.
Funny, I was just thinking the other day about trying my hand at homemade Flour Tortillas ...

Make some! You'll be glad you did since they are so much better than store bought. 🤤
