I must have miscalculated on my last grocery shop, because I'm out of butter. A rare thing for me. Anyway. I know that margarine can be used as an alternative, but I don't have that either. I was thinking, and the closest thing I have on hand is that fake butter you use when making your own popcorn. I wonder how this might work as a substitute (assuming I get the ratios right). My test was going to be a box of instant stuffing, so I don't think it would ruin the flavor, per se. I would just have to try to get it right, and it might work. I don't want it to taste like popcorn either. I'm not even sure, but I might be able to make the stuffing without butter at all. It would lose some flavor from not having butter, and maybe a bit of body, because that's what butter does. I might even be able to get away with just a bit of neutral oil. What do you think?

Does the popcorn butter have a lot of salt in it? 🤷‍♀️
They sell butter flavoured oil here. Maybe try mixing up butter flavoured oil and balancing the flavour with that as a carrier before sacrificing the stuffing! 😂
Or go to the shops and get some butter 😝

I also ran out of butter today which is unheard of. Fortunately there are scoops of ghee I froze and vacuum sealed quite a while ago so I found a way around it 😮‍💨

I can't just go get some butter; I'm not allowed to drive.

Order it online from your local supermarket. Kroger's in Atlanta ( when I was there) delivered in about 30 minutes.
Yes, that's what I usually do, but my situation is kind of unique. I can't drive, but also ordering online costs money, something of which I have very little of right now because of my situation, and I can't just do that. I'm barely above water right now, and it's really, really stressful, and I'm trying to stay positive, but it's been almost 6 months like this, and each day is getting more and more difficult. Even typing this out is giving me labored breathing.

Have you got any neighbours who would "lend" you some just for today?
I appreciate the response, but it's really not that "important." My neighbors to the left of me are fine, the wife is really nice, and loves gardening, but her husband is kind of "exhausting" to talk to, plus he's almost completely deaf. The neighbors to the right, I don't like, they park on the grass like white trash and are shitty dog owners. Their dogs are absolutely obnoxious and bark at full volume at literally anything that moves, even across the street. I don't blame the dogs. There is no such thing as bad dogs, just bad dog owners. Another reason I'm a cat person and not a dog person. Cats are more chill and require less maintenance.
