One food related gift I’m going to get is maybe a creme brûlée blow torch, mine is out of gas but my husband said not to buy butane, he doesn’t want me to mess around with it, just buy a new one. So that might be in the list.
Do you have a picture of that torch?
As far as I know they are easy to refill (says she who keeps buying lighters even though they are refillable)

Yes. Easy to refill. Just by a lighter refill cannister.

And a blow torch has far more uses than crème ɓrûlée!

They are refillable but my husband doesn’t want to do it, and he doesn’t want me to do it either, so I won’t disagree with him for a bit of money for safety reason.

I only use it for crème brûlée in the past, but lately my oven doesn’t get very hot, it’s getting older, while we are busy with everything, I haven’t had time to shop for one, so the torch is nice to singe something, much cheaper than waiting for the electric oven to heat up.

I bought a blow torch over a year ago and recently recieved an email from Amazon that said “THIS ITEM IS DANGEROUS PLEASE RETURN IMMEDIATELY”
Of course that freaked me out a tad, I was away at the time and had visions of it exploding and burning the house down.
So I went on the sellers website and this dire warning was because it says it has a safety catch and the catch does not work. Not only that but it was only for certain batches so check the number on your unit.
It was fine and I wouldn't have sent it back anyway for something like that!

It’s been used for a few years now, it’s running out of butane. I just need a replacement, but you can’t order them online, they dont send one with the butane in it for some reason.

Posting flammable stuff is usually more complicated and costly. Somethings are even banned from being posted.

Do your key cutting places sell butane and that sort of thing? Or perhaps a tobacconist would be a better bet. I’m sure if you explained your dilemma and asked nicely they’d fill it for you if you bought the butane from them.

My local Home Depot sells butane in a can, but my husband said just go get a new one, don’t bother with that. I have to listen to my husband sometimes, lol.
