Given the amount of salt, do you think there is much difference between regular and kosher salt?
 
Nope, I think either would work.

Kosher salt isn't something we really use in the UK (although it can be found in on-line). As I understand it, kosher salt, which is a land mined salt, is slightly courser grained and softer textured than table salt and doesn't contain additives.

I would have thought that for a lot of baking a finer salt would be better?

Yep, it’s coarser, so it measures out differently, which can cause some real issues with larger amounts, but 1/4 teaspoon shouldn’t make much of a difference.

My understanding is coarse salt or finer (table) salt work equally well with baking, as long as the way they measure is taken into consideration.
