In about another month, Labor Day will be upon us! Do you know or have an idea about what you'll be preparing tor dinner that day? It officially is the end of summer season, even though people will probably still be cooking out, until probably just before the winter. What do you see in the forecast for your plans for ther last holiday of the summer? :whistling:

It depends on the weather. Remember, we don't get our first freeze here until mid to late November. It could easily still be over 100F for Labor Day.

Probably not a whole lot as far as I know. It's not typically something we do together as a family, nor is Easter, Memorial Day, or any other holiday these days, really. That kinda came to a screeching halt during the pandemic and now we just mainly get together for birthdays or randomly when we all have the time to do so.

We 'celebrate' labour day on 1st May. I've never heard of labour day in September.

Cottage time with friends. Lots of food and wine, some ATV'ing, fishing and relaxing and a yearly thing.

The plain red flag is often used at socialist or communist rallies, especially on International Workers' Day (viz 1st May).

The song goes:

"The people's flag is deepest red,
It shrouded oft our martyred dead.
And ere their limbs grew stiff and cold,
Their hearts' blood dyed its every fold.

So raise the scarlet standard high,
Beneath its shade we'll live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We'll keep the red flag flying here.
"

Yeah, that's something I'm not familiar with. Certainly a powerful rally cry and wonderfully said, in a communist way lol. Cheers and thanks for enlightening me.

There's another version which is a little rude......

"The working class can kiss my arse,
I got the foreman's job at last.
You can tell old Joe I'm off the dole
.
He can stick his Red Flag up his 'ole!."
