Well, after living in Nevada 37 years I've come to appreciate landscaping that doesn't have needs for water or any kind of timely maintenance.

It's not been cold enough the past two winters to kill anything so the plants around the houses are out of control. On the other house the darn kudzu is growing into the exterior wall. You can spray that with Chernobyl sludge and it'll just keep coming. 😡

Off the back of my porch, facing the woods, there's more saplings and weeds taking over than anything the landscaping is worth. John Deere 455 affect... I'll lay down a ground cover, with holes for the bushes and that's done.

Spent $100 on parts and got the 35yo hedge trimmer to work... Not very neat but then I'm the AC guy. This should last a minute.

It's the xeriscopic approach.👍
Plant were the water collects or runs. Lawns are for soggy climates and sprinklers are insane.

It's not soggy here but it grows anyway, we don't water anything. Have to keep it cut short so the snakes stay out. The only one that comes in is the King Snake to catch the voles.

No 'around' house here, since I am in a terraced townhouse. I have a back garden which might very vaguely be desribed as landscaped but its really an old concrete slab patio and lots of lawn beyond that.
Here the builders want to put plants around the houses. I find no use in it. It's just an expense.

We've got 3, a 6' rough cut, cuts anything's up to 3" in diameter, and a finisher that makes it look nice. No clue what the other one does...

Altogether it's a $40K mower. $30k for the tractor and $10K for the "hog". Nails it.

I’m not aware of that brand either because I’m a city girl, same with my husband, he’s a city boy, and we have city offsprings, they hold their nose when they go into a zoo, haha.
