A lot of places here have meatball subs as well.
'Course I haven't been out to eat in years...Any local pizza joint here serves meatball subs. They’re mandatory.
Subway…Penn Station, they have them. The sit-down Mediterranean cafe in town has them. Small rural town of 12,000…and there are three places I know of, and probably a couple I don’t know of, who have them.
Meatball subs are very, very popular in the Midwest.
That’s the beautiful thing about meatball subs…it’s hard to have a bad one.'Course I haven't been out to eat in years...

You can go out to Vinnie’s Pizza Grotto and pay $10-$12 for one, or go to Walmart, buy a bag of frozen meatballs, some hoagie rolls, a jar marinara sauce, and a block of mozzarella for the same $10-$12, and have eight meatball subs, and they’ll taste about 95% as good as the restaurant one.
Definitely regional by the sound of it. Not a big thing this way either, even in pizza joints. Closest is a meatball calzone.Meatball subs are very, very popular in the Midwest.

Just nottalotta meatballs on offer. I do like a good meatball tho. And meatloaf. Haven't made any in an age.

Yup - whenever I make Italian-style meatballs, MrsT knows we’re having spaghetti one night, subs the next, and pizza the night after that.I always make extra for subs
