Is it the same in northern hemisphere?.
It is here so I don't cook on mothers day and my wife likes a treat.
All our kids and grandys love Indian so it was suggested and booked last week.
Pay for each other. We have a voucher for '$150 from xmas last year.
More than enough.
What do you do??

It’s the 14th here this year. We’ve never done much that way - no holidays like that allowed when I was a kid.

I’ll call her on the day.

It's always a tough time for me. My mom was in the hospital on Mother's Day in 2015 and died May 22nd (my father's birthday).

Usually I'll send MIL a gift or in the past we've had her over for dinner. I'll be out of town this year--I'll be dogsitting for my brother in Houston, so I'll be alone. Usually I get a text from the kids.

I don't have any living mother, grandmothers nor mothers in law in the west.

Mother's day in Thailand is 12th August (Wan Mae, the birthday of Queen Mother Sirikit).

My mom doesn’t make a big fuss over mother’s day, she’ll be happy if I get her some flowers. We’re estranged from my husband’s side of the family, so no fuss there.

It’s also our anniversary weekend (15 years!) so we’ll probably try to do something to celebrate that. We’ll keep it low-key.
