Ms. Mofet's Breaded & Fried Mushroom Caps

Whole mushroom caps
Peanut oil (or oil of choice, I tried bacon fat this time)

(All below ingredients to taste and according to the number of mushroom caps you have)

Breading Ingredients:
Dredge flour (flour of choice):
All-purpose flour
Peanut flour - Optional
Flaxseed meal - Optional
Ground salt
Ground peppercorns
Ground red pepper flakes

Egg wash:
Beaten Egg
Milk (or buttermilk) Or Vegan substitute
Salt
Ground peppercorns

Crumbs:
Panko Unseasoned bread crumbs
Dry Oregano, rubbed
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Ground Sea Salt
Ground peppercorns
Ground red pepper flakes
Cayenne
Paprika
Ground Thyme
Ground Rosemary
Fresh grated Romano cheese Or Vegan substitute
Fresh grated Parmesan cheese Or Vegan substitute
Accent (MSG) - Optional

Heat oil in a heavy pan (I used a cast iron pan) or deep fryer.
Wash mushroom caps and trim stems.
Mix the ingredients for the 3 breading stages in separate trays/bowls.
Dredge mushrooms in the flour.
Then dip in egg wash.
Then coat in crumb mix.
Drop mushrooms in oil and fry 2 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
Drain and serve hot.
