My blenders

I’ll get pics of mine up tomorrow.
The only blender I have is a stick blender. It seems to do everything other blenders do, takes up less space and produces less washing up.
So here is a question: what can standing blenders do that a stick blender can't?

The stick blender I have is crap at crushing ice, but the stand blender whizzes right through it.
Yeah, stick blenders are not that good with solid bits. I make breadcrumbs from toasted bread in my blender which the stick wouldn't be able to do.
Ah. Well as I never crush ice I hadn't come across that.
I do have a mini chopper and the only thing I have found it useful for is making breadcrumbs. I'm not sure if a mini chopper is a type of blender or not..
The stick blender would take about an hour to mince up raisins, ginger and garlic for my mango chutney. My stand mixer did it in about 5.

That's a mixer not a blender though. Obviously a stick blender isn't for mincing things but I didn't think a standing blender was either.

Oster is good! I've got an all metal drive one I purchased 33 years ago that still works fine. I think I'm on my 3rd glass pitcher part though. Hard floors...
That's what I use, all the time. Perfectly designed, simple to use, poweful motor, easy to clean.
And yes, the glass pitcher does tend to fall on the floor occasionally (like a dozen times
)
Almost forgot that one - MrsT wanted that for fruit smoothies, which we’ve not made too many in, but it actually works quite well, and for salad dressings and cocktails.
