I was able to see my parents over the holiday vacation... and of course the subject of their health came up. Just like it's always been in the past, my dad has good checkups and the doctors are amazed at his perfect cholesterol numbers.
Bottom line... it really is true about eating oatmeal because he's had that for breakfast ever since I was a little girl and his cholesterol numbers seem to indicate that it was beneficial for all these years.
I'm pretty sure that the instant flavored oatmeal in packets wouldn't be nearly as healthy... am I right about that? I mean I know oatmeal is oatmeal, but wouldn't those added sugars and sodium tend to remove some of the health benefits that "real" oatmeal offers?
