Most sweet beverages and desserts contain sugar, but it is not the only sweetener available. I don't mean articifical sweeteners made with chemicals, I mean natural sweet substances such as honey, maple syrup and agave juice.
Some of these natural sweeteners are just as full of calories as sugar, but they are better for health and they do add more taste to a dish. They can be used to sweeten hot or cold drinks or to drizzle on a dessert. They may also be used in baking or as glazes.
