you'll also see that the number is there and that in addition, in the title of the tab itself, you'll get a number as well.

I'll move these over to a new thread if that is OK with you... titled something appropriate. I know that it is not going to be blindly obvious to everyone. I'm still having issues telling the difference between the colour of read and unread alerts or new PM's. Right now, I'm guessing, so that is on the list of jobs to change.
Don't worry, it took me several minutes to see the New Posts lightening bolt up top.
