Novelty cakes and bakes

On the left is a fraction of my gingerbread molds and on the right is Hvitträsk pictured in a gingerbread house book.

In the book, famous buildings from all around the world are built from gingerbread dough. Plans/patterns are included. Maybe I'll try Hvitträsk some year :roflmao:. Just the diminished plan (without cuttings) takes five pages.

Our own gingerbread houses aren't that grand (here's the 2017 version):

Lately - as most of the houses haven't been eaten - we've just made loooooong gingerbread pikes to garnish our Christmas dinner plates.

So far I haven't really dared to make novelty cakes or biscuits, I've only started baking this past year. When I was a caterer I exclusively made restaurant fare, and not the bread or patessirie section.
I plan however to learn to bake more complex creations, as I really love decorated cakes.
