I've been playing with guitar building lately as a hobby to give me rests from caregiving. This is my second Stratocaster copy made from miscellaneous guitar parts. We call this sort of thing a "partscaster." This one has a stained Okoume wood body with a gloss finish, stained maple neck with a rosewood fret board and black hardware. It plays just like the instrument it copies and sounds just as good in a different way because of the different kind of pickups. I have one more to go before I run out of guitar storage space.

Nice job. Is it parts from other guitars you had like an original Fender body, or all bits from Warmoth/Allparts etc.?

You should do you a 'Blades' headstock decal. :)

What have you got in the collection behind?

Those are my acoustic guitars. There is a Taylor, Epiphone, Alvarez, Ibanez and a couple of classicals that we discussed before. I built the partscaster from cheap Chinese parts. Total cost was a little over $200, not even enough to buy a Warmoth body. I think the factory electric guitars are basically partscasters, just with a logo on the headstock.
 
Here is another one. The first had three humbucker pickups. This one is HSS - humbucker with two single coils. The last one will be SSS or all singlle coil pickups like the original Stratocaster. Do I need three of these? Of course not. I don't even need one. It was just a project to get me away from caregiving activitvities. This one has a cherry burst poplar body with a maple neck and fretboard. It plays very nicely.
