I do, I am, but I´ll make an exception for this. Ate it in a Yucatan cantina in Mexico City, and it was unbelievable. It´s cooked for several hours, then "pulled".Bought some shrimp just in case!

I wonder if I could make a vegan version with jackfruit (which 'pulls'). I've made the real thing with pork and its really delicious. I'm just curious to see if a vegan version might work. New project for me...

Made garlic butter. 1/2 pound butter, good slug evoo, 30 cloves of garlic and parsley from the garden.
I freeze it, keeps months.
Took rump steak for stew tomorrow with kids.

Ready to go to the Boat Race. Putney Bridge is already full of people, the bars and cafés are packed, and the event doesn´t start for another 1 1/2 hours!!
 
My plans for this morning - arise, refreshed from a satisfying slumber, enjoy a mug of hot tea and a warm apple fritter while lazily perusing CookingBites and other online forums.

What really happened:

Ahhhh (sipping tea)…oh, crap! I was supposed to get the chicken for tonight marinated but I forgot!

<Rushes like mad to get oil, vinegar, brown sugar, etc in a big plastic bag…>

Ok, let me just get the chicken…

<Turns to the fridge, gets chicken parts, turns back around, sees the bag full of oily vinegar goop has tipped over and is running across the wooden cutting board, the countertop, down the side between the cabinet and the stove, and onto the floor>

Sunday morning, 8AM. Woke up thinking it was 8PM and I had taken a nap. Put the dog outside. Started thinking about cooking dinner. Thought, "Why is the sun in the Eastern sky?" Finished waking up.

Ok, I have to admit, I don't know if that's ever happened to me, but I don't think I'd like it.
