Plans for today (2025)

My DD shaved Georgie (cat). He is a long hair. Poor old boy was getting lots of matting. She left his head, tail and legs unshaved. He's half the guy he used to be. LOL

Pippi won't stand for me to do it and I'm leery with trim scissors around her face. She freezes for Amanda, the groomer.
 
Cooler today but can’t open windows because it may rain. It’s hard for me to open and close so I don’t open when it’s rain in the forecast.

I am going to make the lamb shanks for the recipe challenge tonight. Other than that, I have to clean up the kitchen a little bit and a little other minor housework. Dishes are done but my stovetop is in need of attention and the counters need some decluttering. I also have to check my ingredient list to see if I need to run out and get anything for my recipe.
 
I just made 47 mini-sausage rolls, which are now freezing in the downstairs freezer. Ran out of sausage stuffing.
I cooked some beetroot to make beetroot & tamarind chutney, and I'm now going to polish off the samosas. Only 50 to go.
THEN I might just head off to the swimming pool at the end of the street and teach my grandson how to swim. Or not!

A little slice of life at my house today:

Me (heading out the door for groceries and looking at the dirty breakfast dishes): I’ve got to get back as soon as I can so I can do the dishes.

MrsT: Oh, don’t worry about doing the dishes.

<I return a few hours later, dishes still dirty, she’s watching reels on her phone>

Me: I thought you said you would do the dishes while I was gone!

MrsT: When did I say that?

Me: You said, “don’t worry about the dishes!”

MrsT: I just meant you could do them when you got back, like, “Don’t worry about them, they’ll still be here when you get back.”

I cut the grass and then determined that the squash plant is toast from the vine borers, ripped it out. The acorn squash can't do Georgia sun, period. I'll till those under tomorrow.

Good news is I'm prepping for a fall planting. Greens, garlic, cabbage, and carrots??? 🤔
