Plans for today (2025)

Individual jars. Beetroot, tamarind paste, onion, ginger, garam masala,& lots of love :D :D
I think the question was more is that beetroot chutney and tamarind chutney or is it beetroot and tamarind chutney, but you sort of answered it without answering it if you get me.

Plans are to try and navigate this packed day without sacrificing the ham melts which is the thing on the weeks menu I’ve allowed myself time to mess with in this ‘no cook’ week.
Trying not to cook has given me a tick (well almost 😂) so much so that when my eyes opened at 6am my immediate thought (after ouch I’m really sore) was HAM 😁

Very satisfying to get up and cook something.

It’s done now and cooling down. My addiction is almost fed. Just a bit of chopping and mixing and the itch will have been scratched!

I’ve got concert tickets tonight to see Apocalyptica (they’re a heavy metal band that plays on cellos). With 22 cm of snow last night, I’m really hoping things have been cleaned up a bit before we have to leave.

The plow hasn’t come yet - my street is pretty much impassable. My neighbour has an F150 and even he got briefly stuck this morning!

Plans for today...OMG..
Up at 5.15, shower, snatched half a cup of tea, and at 5.45 was on my way to the dentist right over the other side of the city. By 7.30, I was done. Back home- the gardener and the cleaner were waiting outside. Quick breakfast sandwich for them then take the kid to his gym. Back home, sent off an estimate for an event next month, then a call from my client who's having a Valentine's party tomorrow:
" You haven't sent me the list of ingredients!"
Yes, I had- but to her office number and she hasn't been there all week.😬😬😬😬😬
Got the ingredients list, sent the recipes, the straight to the supermarket to buy everything. Picked up the kid from the gym on the way home, got back, stuffed all the perishables in the fridge, can't cook anything because she's cleaning the bloody kitchen so I've just sat down with a cold one to contemplate the mountains...
And it's still only 3.15- still got to make garam masala for tomorrow...

I'm not sure what my plans are now that the 1st (of 2) exams is over.
Its cool and muggy at 19C outside and 95% humidity, so whilst I want to do some gardening, I am not certain that I will. everything is wet and kneeling in wet grass is not what I fancy to do right now.

And strange for me, but I am hoping we have some rain today
Thankfully ours held off during my exam because it took the internet out again. Unfortunately it came down in the space of an hour or so in very heavy bursts that just ran offdown the track. It will have topped up the water tank and the dams, but the ground will have got very little from it sadly.

I'm also expecting it have killed some of the new born lambs by the morning. They'll be soaked to the skin.
my chicks are currently in the mud room being fed and drying out so that they go to roost with a full crop and slightly drier. I don't know where they were, but it didn't involve metal or concrete as a barrier to the rain. The rest of the flock were at the front door protected by the concrete of the veranda.

The dining room is clear, the stuff is in the loft, the furniture is out of the van, the door cams are reset, cut my sons hair and the most joyous bit the WD40 silicone spray arrived and little trolley’s wheels now move again! 🙌

The trolley is my favourite completed job as the bearings are mostly gone and the wheels wobble like a tea trolley in a skit from ‘Acorn Antiques’

I’m having a cup of tea planning the food I’m going to wheel in on it when we have an intermission during a film.
Wobble, rattle, squeak, wobble, rattle, squeak.. would you like anything from the trolley? I’ve got popcorn, choc ices, hot dogs? 😂
