Plans for today (2025)

Oh now that is miserable šŸ˜ž
Have you considered a cheap door alarm? The noise they make can cause them not to hang around. Or perhaps a door cam and a sign saying it’s covered by CCTV.
Not that any of that helps right now. Sorry to hear it, it always feels worse than just the stuff that’s gone missing, it’s the intrusion into your space that makes it most uncomfortable.
Sending hugs šŸ¤— šŸ¤—
Cameras are ordered.

Plans involve shaking off this fuzzy head (Aunty Barbara died yesterday so we raised a glass or ten) and trying to make it to the Crown paint centre in Bridgwater (about half an hour down the motorway) which opens at 7.30am.
Which is 4 minutes time but someone’s stapled the duvet down so I’m stuck here for a bit I think šŸ˜‚

Then might pop into Marks’ because I ordered some new houseworking clothes. I realised the two pairs of tracksuit bottoms I wear for inhouse tasks are nearly twenty years old and their shabbyness is dragging me down a tad.
You know what I mean when you catch sight of yourself in the mirror and think ā€œOh dearā€ Yer well they had moved into double ā€œoh dearā€ šŸ˜‚

Have other running around jobs to do and chicken rillette to finish and a pork joint to brine for more ham šŸ¤ž

Just home from buying more booze. 11 am yesterday 2 maoris broke into my garage and my back fence. Used a screwdriver? To pop the side door.
Took all my meat in one freezer. The other one has veges etc in. Whole lamb dressed 3 fillets paua whitebait pickled pork and other stuff. Had to get a locksmith out for 2 new bolts. $500 later.
Cops told me not to touch anything. But I know my power tools are gone.
Insurance company will pay for meat as long time policy holder .
I'm kinda guessing up.aroind 4k? Just one drill to replace is $750 makita hp2010n.

Time for some "defensive" steps sounds like.

Make some board cream for cutting boards, break down a rotisserie chicken that was on sale at Walmart, last coat of weatherproofing on my mint box, and lastly add some moth balls to the full tank of gas in the truck!

Oh yeah, and enjoy the new liquid candy bars...

Ta I'll have a look next time in store. We have captain Morgan. I don't like that one. Lol
My wife has a real good selection of whiskeys!!

Russ
Yeah, I don't like Captain Morgan a whole lot either, nor Malibu, but they make excellent rum cakes and are tolerable when mixed with white rum and fruit juices over ice.

Moth balls in the fuel tank :scratchhead:
For sure! You have to get the ones that are made from naphthalene and not the BS 'safe for you' ones. The naphthalene helps keep the carburetor and injectors clean. It adds a *pep* to the HP since it burns quite well...

I do this every 4 months. If you can't get -real- moth balls you can go with a qt./litre of the cheapest transmission fluid at every oil change. Tranny fluid has a lot of detergents in it and it's not as aggressive as moth balls.

(My truck is an '06 and ticks along just fine. FWIW)

Last coat done! Smells *totally* like pine and I'm not going through another night of that so it's staying outside tonight on the truck tailgate so Ozzie doesn't pee on it then it's being placed for planting!

Still feeling like crap, so I called in sick to work.

Spent all morning sleeping and all afternoon watching mindless junk on YouTube. Husband went out mid-day and we’re well stocked up on meds now.

Might need to take another sick day tomorrow, depending on how I feel; I’ll probably work from home for the rest of the week. The trains were totally messed up today so I’m glad I didn’t have to deal with that at least.
