Plans for today (2025)

It's actually recommended for removing, or softening, ear wax.
3 years ago, I was in the UK and I went deaf in my left ear, so off to the doctor's. Had a look, then told me to apply olive oil 3 times a day and come back in a week.
When I was a kid ( late 50s-early 60s) the only olive oil we had in the house was in the medicine cabinet. For ears.

Forget the peroxide and go to warm, salt water - for gargling, not for ears. Ears is olive oil.
Well thanks Dr. KK, lol. I forgot you were ano MD.

Warm salt water works fine for gargling, I know. I have done that many times before. But a while back when I was sick Dr. Barlekamp, my physician, suggested peroxide (half of a 3% solution, half water). It works better.

I do not have an ear wax problem. The peroxide is to neutralize bacteria in case of an ear infection. Olive oil does not do that.

I do not have an ear wax problem. I have an eustachian tube dysfunction that was diagnosed by my ENT several years ago that leave me prone to ear infections, usually when I get a sore throat or sinus infections. Dr. Khalil recommended a few drops of pedoxide solution.

Lots of people absolutely swear by peroxide and I can't think of a single reason why it wouldn't do a good job.

I guess it fell out of favour due to peoples ability to use the wrong thing.
Most people hear peroxide and think of the bleach they'd clean the toilet with.

Wonder if that's where Trump got confused when he mused about it being a potential treatment for covid? Some people really shouldn't try to think out loud 😆

JAS_OH1 did you have a good birthday yesterday?
Wwll not really, but thanks! Between my husband limping around in pain and me coughing and blowing my nose, it was rather pathetic instead of fun. But that's alright, I did get a foot massage which helped me sleep.

Hmm I think that means you have a day of pleasure in the bank, birthday take two!
