TastyReuben my DH would have stayed at the Pretzel factory all day, munching away.
He loves the big soft ones, but the hard "broken" as well. I got him hooked on Trader Joe's Peanut Butter ones, well, actually Andersen's brand from Costco first, but he prefers TJ's.

Going to get my cucumber kimchi started. This will be the real deal and not any of that "quick/refrigerator" quack stuff with a name of kimchi that's really marinated veggies...

Got some pork to make a chub of boudin sausage. Works out to to about $5/lb. when I make it. Buying it in NOLA is closer to $13/lb. 😧

Get started on some pizza dough, long slow ferment in the fridge one.👍

We always like going there. The “factory” is about half the size of our house, they make 5 million pretzels a year, and every last one is hand-twisted. To say it’s a modest establishment is putting it mildly.

They don’t even have a proper storefront, just a counter from about 1950 that separates a small little foyer from the rest of the floor. There’s a chest freezer in one corner for frozen pretzels, a rack with some small bags of pretzels, and some larger boxes stacked on the floor, that’s it. Most of the time, when you order a soft pretzel, it’s still warm from the oven.

Here’s a short video:

I made some skillet bread and ate it (obviously).
Then got convinced I should take a 2nd fly fishing rod. It's too long for my rod case, so I made another one out of a piece of 50 mm pvc that I had lying around.
Watered the garden, picked beans, pawpaw and bell peppers.
Did a quote that I only need ready by tomorrow, so most of that is out of the way.
I still need to decide what to eat. I got some nice red sauce left over from day before yesterday. So probably that, with pasta. I may add some salami or bacon.

It's getting close to 5 pm, almost time for a cold beer.
It's getting warmer now. I think winter is over. No longs, socks and beanie this morning ;)

I've been doing grocery curbside pickup and delivery shops for the past few days where I get paid to evaluate various e-commerce platforms and get free groceries. Got one this afternoon and another tomorrow. Also going to finish cleaning out my filing cabinet.

No. That’s a waste of good potato chips.

A real potato chip salad is where you take 3-5 varieties of potato chips and toss them together gently in a big bowl and serve. No dressing needed or allowed.

It’s a good idea to start with a base of plain. That should make up about half your salad. Add to that something creamy, like a sour cream-and-green onion flavor, and then something spicy/sharp, like a hot barbecue or even a dill pickle-flavored variety…equal parts of those “flavoring” chips.

Now that’s a potato chip salad! 😉

Nothing planned particularly today. I'm still recovering from yesterday's "party", where everything started off fine, but then one one the guests started lecturing us on how we should only eat meat, avoid bread, pasta, sugars, etc. and thus make the world a better place.
On the other table, the discussion was into whether the 5 prayers of the Virgin of Fatima should be incorporated into the Catholic mass...
I just disappeared up to my summerhouse and smoked a cigar.
I bought all the ingredients for my lasagna on Tuesday so I'll probably make the meat sauce this afternoon. I'll also need to check I've got enough "snacks" for my SIL's little party on Tuesday, and write down detailed instructions on how to warm up, serve, plate and accompany them all, because she has absolutely no idea at all. :hyper:
