As much as I whine on here to you folks about my food dislikes, I would never tell people how/what they should or shouldn't eat, and then give a know-it-all disclaimer that it would "make the world a better place". And as much as I enjoy meat as a protein, it's a terribly flawed concept. Well maybe cutting back on the sugars is a sound idea, but really. Just wow. About the religion thing, well it makes me a bit uncomfortable since though I do believe in a higher power, I am pretty much agnostic.Nothing planned particularly today. I'm still recovering from yesterday's "party", where everything started off fine, but then one one the guests started lecturing us on how we should only eat meat, avoid bread, pasta, sugars, etc. and thus make the world a better place.
On the other table, the discussion was into whether the 5 prayers of the Virgin of Fatima should be incorporated into the Catholic mass...
I just disappeared up to my summerhouse and smoked a cigar.
I bought all the ingredients for my lasagna on Tuesday so I'll probably make the meat sauce this afternoon. I'll also need to check I've got enough "snacks" for my SIL's little party on Tuesday, and write down detailed instructions on how to warm up, serve, plate and accompany them all, because she has absolutely no idea at all.![]()
I would eat meat from the neck on a larger animal. I don't much like chicken or turkey necks just because they are a PITA to get the meat off with all those tiny bones. But no issues with them going into stock. I will eat beans and greens made with hamhocks but I just have this thing about feet from any animal. What, ready to go in the freezer??? Woohoo I found a neck too!View attachment 132170

I think "a bit uncomfortable" more or less sums up how I felt. Being preached at by someone who , I happen to know, only cooks BBQ, and then getting sermons on the bible (and I know the bible - until I was 22, I was in church 3 times every Sunday and every single day for a whole year at uni) was over the top.As much as I whine on here to you folks about my food dislikes, I would never tell people how/what they should or shouldn't eat, and then give a know-it-all disclaimer that it would "make the world a better place".
