Plans for today (2025)

I've just dropped wife at work. She's doing wages for staff. Im getting booze then picking isla up..she's hete cleaning our door frames and doors upstairs and down. And window sills.
Then 2 ceiling fans she missed last time here.
Pick shirl up about 1pm buy a few things.
Isla wants me to teach her a few meals she can cook for her family.
She's cooking marinade chicken tenders egg washed and panko fried. Small salad and kumara chips 🍟
If we have time chicken kebabs and satay sauce.
She's staying the night. We will be watching her fave TV program we have on sky. Gogglebox.

I have lots of unavoidable work planned for today but I can feel my natural recalcitrance rearing it’s head.
The first clue to this is it being 9.20am I’ve not started, am having another cup of tea and imagining colour schemes for a home I don’t have in the Isle of Man.
La la laa, this is much more fun 😂

Waiting on shirl and isla (shopping) to get home.. wife getting new glasses and wants islas opinion. Lunch will be a bakery. Then I have to pick up my dermol cream. They short changed me. Drop isla home then it will be time for pokies and few beers at papanui working mens club
Prolly have tea there.

I’m off today to pick up my crapple watch from the Mall, check out some sofas (any sofa buying tips welcome) and meet a good friend who’s having a hard time for a bit of lunch.
I might at some point acknowledge the work I didn’t do yesterday still needs doing but at the moment I feel that’s a problem for future SSOAP, present SSOAP is busy not giving a fig 😂
 
So far, my day has been exceedingly busy. Breakfast for son, get him ready for the gym, take him to the gym, call the mechanic to fix a moment when he can check the a/c on the car, off to the hardware store to buy paint, sealer, varnish for the bloke who's doing all the windows at home, time for a quick shower before I head off to the restaurant...
 
✅ Get up at the butt crack of dawn, AGAIN! (the sun didn't come up until about an hour and half afterwards)
✅Drive up two towns to the Courthouse (got called for Jury Duty)
✅Hung around the Courthouse, twiddling my thumbs for the entire morning
✅Was excused from Court with a very nice "Thank you for your service"
✅Got home in time for lunch

Now I'm free for the rest of the day, I think I'll go laid for a nap

Here they pay $25/day IF you actually are on the jury...
 
Well it was a quiet day at the office today, because it tiddled down with rain all morning and I think many people said : " Nah! Not going out for lunch today!"
Photographers came again, however, which gave me a chance to rabbit on about our menu which has 14 items and represents 8 different regions of India. Then they got me going on what spices were involved, which occupied another 30 minutes of rabbit, rabbit, rabbit. Then I got two ladies at a table that were fascinated by the spice mixtures...
Eventually left about 4.30pm. Rabbit free.
