Off work today, sitting at the colonoscopy clinic while MrsT gets her innards scoped.
Feel your pain, spent all yesterday afternoon at the eye hospital waiting for Mr SSOAP to be seen.
He’s going to have to have his corneas scraped. Most eye procedures aren’t painful, I don’t have the heart to tell him how much this will hurt 😔

On the upside the afternoon before I rang the Audiology dept because one of my hearing aids wasn’t working and they said we can see you tomoz so I only had to go to Bristol once because we could both be seen at hospitals a stones throw from each other on the same day. Plus they fixed my hearing aid straight away. They really are the most lovely helpful people, a genuine credit to their profession.

SandwichShortOfAPicnic - sorry for MrSSOAP. I have a low threshold for what I consider painful, but a high tolerance for it, as far as I know, at least. Maybe I’ve never been in real pain and I’m not as tough as I think I am.
Hard to know isn’t it.
I suppose it depends what you think the most painful thing you’ve ever done or had done is?

I have a high tolerance for genuinely painful things and a low tolerance for things like small burns, mouth ulcers or paper cuts. I’ll moan about those but don’t ever mention real pain 😂

I've been blown up with seven pieces of metal fragments landing in my ankle, knee, arms, and head. No pain at all since I passed out on the way to the concrete. Burned and cut severely in industrial accidents but pain is more a pita than pain due to the limits on mobility. Now it's more of a bummer knowing it'll take a minute to heal and it's a drag cleaning up the mess. 🤷‍♂️

Dont really feel it anymore.

Oh balls, I just realised I haven’t said I hope Mrs T is ok and everything went well 😊

If it’s any consolation my tardiness has meant I abandoned prepping dinner to write this and the youngest appeared and offered to do the prep 😂

No problem, thanks.

Everything went well. For the first time ever, they actually managed to knock her out. She’s getting old and weak, I suppose.

No issues, so as is the usual course, when they can’t find anything wrong and you still have intestinal problems…hocus-pocus abra-cadabra, I now diagnose you with IBS!

Referral to a nutritionist to nail down what’s what?

With our profit driven system over here they'd probably rather sell you a drug... 🤨
A qualified nutritionist and a complete food diary is the only way to nail this stuff down and it all requires commitment, patience adjustment rechecking etc. It goes on for a long ol’ while.
You have to have a far amount of gut pain to really want to see that through.

Right, I just don't think out HCS is driven to cure but I'm straying OT...
