Plans for today (2025)

I finally got hold of the lamb (and lamb bones) on Friday, and made some lamb stock yesterday/
Today I'll be cooking Lamb Kohlapuri, which I've never made before, but it'll be fun seeing how it turns out.
Friends coming over for lunch this afternoon, so I'd better get going!

Are you using dried coconut? I believe it is traditional. If so it could qualify for the current challenge.

Meal prepped a big bowl of salad so I have healthy lunches to take to the office this week. Then swept the deck, raked the leaves onto the vegetable patch, and currently watching football while the laundry’s on. Later I’ll make pickle soup for dinner.

Pickle soup??? Please tell! I've boatloads of pickles from this summer's cucumber harvest.

Every time I mention pickle soup on this forum I get requests for the recipe, so here it is: Pickle soup

I recently acquired two (2) end-grained teak cutting boards for pennies on the dollar (one new with a new polyurethane finish, and one used). I broke out the orbital sander today to remove the poly finish and clean them up, before wiping them all down with mineral oil. Tomorrow, once it has dried, I'll add another coat to all of them.

Beeswax and mineral oil is good 1:4.

Pure Tung Oil, I understand, is food safe and is the best, which I'll begin using once my mineral oil is used up. That is what I've used on my qajaq frames, but didn't understand until recently that it is also food safe.
Never heard of that so I'll have to check it out.
