At the shops…windchill is down to 9F/-13C. Blew my coat out of my hands!
That’s colder than here! We had snow overnight but it’s currently just above freezing and everything is melting (just in time for me to get my snow tires on tomorrow!)At the shops…windchill is down to 9F/-13C. Blew my coat out of my hands!
So you were not actually wearing the coat?At the shops…windchill is down to 9F/-13C. Blew my coat out of my hands!
I don’t wear a coat in the car, as it’s already warm in the car and it’s too bulky. I also take it (and my hat, scarf, and gloves) off as soon as I step inside the shop.So you were not actually wearing the coat?
Yeah I've never understood wearing coats in modern cars. Even my 80 series landcruiser has warmed up enough too not need a coat by the time I reach tarmac. We won't mention the time it takes to reach a sealed road.I don’t wear a coat in the car, as it’s already warm in the car and it’s too bulky. Unless it’s below 20F/-7C (real temp or windchill), I usually won’t wear it into the shops, I just leave it in the car, in case I get stranded - anyone should be able to endure that kind of temp for the minute or two it takes to get from the car to the doors.
Today, though, the wind was so strong, it actually hurt to be in it for more than a few seconds, so that’s why I was putting my coat on outside…until the wind had other ideas.
That, and wearing full winter gear in the shops. If a person is walking around a grocery store for 30 minutes or so, a place that’s 70/F/20C in their winter coat (not to mention their hat and scarf, as I’ve seen more often than not), how’re they going to feel when they step back out in the cold? They’ll need a coat to put over their coat! Madness!Yeah I've never understood wearing coats in modern cars.
