Plans for today (2026)

It was the plan, and I got to my destination to find that their fire warning level was extreme, not just the high we have, so the national park was closed! I drove all that way, only to have to come half way back to go somewhere else that was in the city and open.

Lesson learnt. Next time, double check there fire warning levels. Extreme = total fire ban = National Park closed....
 
Today I got an email from an infusion company for iv infusion, found out through my brother that my sister didn’t feel well, had a chill, she then called AgeWell company to take her to the hospital, she was there for a week, and then she called Uber to get home. That’s quite an achievement, needless to say I’m very proud of her. My brother said he helped as last minute driving only.
Those particular weeks, my husband and I were not in the best of shape and we didn’t want to give her anything.
 
I worked from home today instead of going into the office like I'd done all week and wrapped up early. I brought 3 wheelbarrow loads of firewood up to the house, but had to do it by the arm load since it's impossible to push a wheelbarrow through this snow. Then I grabbed a few rifles and headed over to the gun club for a while. Afterwards, I ran through the car wash on my way home. Lol, I'd forgotten what color my car was with all the road salt it was caked in. I plan to work down at my reloading bench this evening, or continue to install insulation in the floor joists down there if I have the gumption.

What happened to those compressed block things with more BTUs than wood?
 
No cooking today so that means lots of time in the garden. I actually enjoy potting around my garden, it doesn’t seem like work.
