Pomp and Ceremony

Will it, or will it be another long meandering diatribe from a man clearly suffering with dementia while everyone around him pretends he isn’t?
Hmm... well there is the Epstein issue. Our journos can be quite insistent and he can't sack them. The whole thing could be embarrassing for Keir.

Oh yes there’s huge potential for embarrassment but I doubt the press will get anywhere near them. They only take pre authorised questions from approved journalists now. Controlling the narrative has never been so easy.

Yes. Its going to be very controlled. But you never know...

I've been watching the TV coverage of Trump's visit to London. One fact is cemented in my mind. It is that nobody does pomp and ceremony like the British. Nobody. Where else in the world can a visitor get a ride in gold covered horse drawn carriage followed by the cavalry in full regalia. Nowhere
There are other places that do it.
Spain do a great line in it.
Although they’re probably not inclined to roll out the red carpet for Trump.
Anywhere with an ancient monarchy thriving still does that stuff.

I imagine, given Prince Randy Andrew, that the issue will be diplomatically brushed under a large Persian rug.
And I might add that British journalists, left right or centre, are often scurrilous rather than insistent.
And I might also add:
This whole post is fringing on political, which is a no-no.

I wish it wasn't a no-no to politely discuss politics in a general chat. I understand it's a no-no to get heated and angry with each other but that can happen over any topic. Glad it doesn't.
