It's October, and as we all know, this is the time of pumpkin spice latte's and fall flavors. I've always loved the flavor of pumpkins, and I've recently been experimenting with pumpkin spice. Currently, I use McCormick's pumpkin pie spice, and occasionally add in bits of actual pumpkins. I've found that walnut goes great with pumpkin spice, and helps bring out the flavor.
So far, I've made:
- Pumpkin spice cookies. I adapted a regular sugar cookie recipe, and added the pumpkin spice flavor to it. They turned out great! However, they weren't very pumpkin-y.
- Pumpkin spice pancakes. These turned out amazing! They were much better than regular pancakes. They had more flavor and were sweeter, so they did not need syrup or other pancake toppings.
I want to ask everyone if they love using pumpkin spice around this time of year. If so, what is your favorite mix? What kind of things have you made? I'm always looking for new ideas as I loved pumpkin flavored items.
