Are there? There are a few missing here and there from that list. Odd, yes?
Yeah. I had one from April 2021 that's not listed, there was a gap between February and June I think. It was one of my favorite recipe creations. I think there were some other gaps too.Are there?
OK, if you find them, can you report them please and we'll get them added.Yeah. I had one from April 2021 that's not listed, there was a gap between February and June I think. It was one of my favorite recipe creations. I think there were some other gaps too.
How can you tell? (other than if it's published in a book or website with a copyright notice). Interesting, tho.You can post a recipe by Gordon Ramsay (as long as it's not copyrighted), by Escoffier, or by the lady who lives on the corner. They're all valid.
If there's a link, then just post it and state something like "adapted from" or "inspired by"How can you tell? (other than if it's published in a book or website with a copyright notice). Interesting, tho.
Would a link work?
Recently came across a case in point looking for a veg biryani recipe. Came across one which was not bad - bit convoluted in the written method but. Later re-found Sunil Vijayakar's recipe on the BBC which I had made before but hadn't looked at again as I knew I didn't have a couple of the veg right on hand. Realised the one I'd found and made was noticeably similar/almost identical in almost every way bar the veg.
Obviously a perennial issue on food mbs where people post dishes they cook.
Typically you just have to read the copyright. How can you tell? (other than if it's published in a book or website with a copyright notice). Interesting, tho.
If you mean instead of writing it up, to avoid copyright issues, no. We are not a link sharing site (those are typically the Here's the list of ingredients, if you like the sound of it, click here to see how it's made, type of sites).Would a link work?
I think this thread is in danger of becoming confusing. The basic rules are simple (as I explained above). You can post a recipe by Gordon Ramsay (as long as it's not copyrighted), by Escoffier, or by the lady who lives on the corner. They're all valid.

All recipe descriptions and methods are subject to copyright whether or not its stated on a website or other publication where they appear. *
The title of recipe and list of ingredients are not subject to copyright.
If you adapt a recipe you can state the source via a link as a footnote to your written version of the the recipe.
*in theory this also applies to a person's hand written or typed unpublished recipe.
Apologies, that’s probably my fault, as I’m the one who usually updates the list. Thanks for reporting it, we’ll get it on there. There are a few missing here and there from that list. Odd, yes?
I dont think you were a moderator yet in April 2021.Apologies, that’s probably my fault, as I’m the one who usually updates the list. Thanks for reporting it, we’ll get it on there.
I have no idea.I dont think you were a moderator yet in April 2021.

I think it was 2023.I have no idea.
Sometimes I think I’ve always been a moderator. I was a moderator before the Universe leapt to life, and I shall be a moderator when the last star fades to black…
Obviously, I watch too much sci-fi.![]()
