Show us your breakfast (2025)

Found a Milling company 3 miles down the road that grows organic, Non-GMO corn and they stone grind it on site! The best deal was 2 bags @ 1 1/2 lbs. each for $12. I didn't have any cash so they gave them to me. (I'll send a pizza by next week.)

So here's a bowl of those with ham chunks and the requisite butter...

that's looking luscious! not sure how eggs benedict sans hollandaise works . . . but he who eats happy, eats best.
what egg-to-butter(T) ratio do you use?

we've been gotten a bit spoilt using smoked salmon vs. the traditional canadian bacon/ham.
DW is not fond of much alcohol, but a mimosa to dress up her LV Sadelles lieblings brunch , , , that's different.
 
CookieMonster I cheat and use the powdered Sauce mix - it's just for me, but I may stop doing that and use the Egg Yolks as the "sauce" as DH does.
This was delicious using the leftover over Honey Baked Ham rather than salmon or back bacon.
The Mimosa really made brunch special. We did eat anything yesterday until lunch, as my Mother was coming over for a big meal.

CM doesn't know that your DH doesn't like "creamy" stuff like Hollandaise.

I too don't mind the powdered sauce mix, sometimes it's just easier when there is already a lot going on. Like poaching eggs!
 
agreed JAS_OH1 - poaching eggs is a PITA!!!
But in the end, so worth the effort, that was delicious!!
I really should make them in a batch, ala Kenji Lopez-Alt, and have them on hand... thought: can I freeze poached eggs?
I didn't google it but I would guess it would not be nearly as good. I guess we are lucky to have households of 2. Much more manageable.
