Real cheese this time. So much better than the thin colored square of "cheese food"...
It's the best way, really. Other than mashed or baked, crispy potatoes are the only way I like them.Wasn't envisioning crispy potatoes but still good.View attachment 127805
Harder to chew for me. Takes longer to eat and everything is cooling off. Food temperature is becoming less and less important though as my ability to chew degrades. One day...It's the best way, really. Other than mashed or baked, crispy potatoes are the only way I like them.
I can relate a litte because my DH has a brace behind his upper 4 front teeth to stabalize them and he can't bite into anything. Chewing with his molars works. It took me awhile to adjust my cooking and food preparations to suit his needs. Sandwiches with chewy bread (like hoagies) for him are no longer a thing because he can't bite into them, same with bagels and a few other foods--unless I cut them into bite-sized pieces. Burgers I make on soft slider buns work well, but no pretzel buns and the like...Harder to chew for me. Takes longer to eat and everything is cooling off. Don't really have any molars and get it on the bread. I have to toast slices or it's just a gummy ball of dough in my mouth.I can relate a litte because my DH has a brace behind his upper 4 front teeth to stabalize them and he can't bite into anything. The only way I make garlic bread anymore is to accompany soup. Too crusty and hurts the roof of his mouth, even if I cut it into bite sized pieces. So it's great for dipping into soup.Don't really have any molars and get it on the bread. I have to toast slices or it's just a gummy ball of dough in my mouth.![]()
I need to work on making my baguettes. Hailing originally from NOLA when I think bread to accompany soups and gumbo I think baguette. The only way I make garlic bread anymore is to accompany soup.
